MOSCOW, Idaho—University of Idaho women’s basketball assistant coach Jordan Green was promoted to associate head coach on Monday as announced by head coach Jon Newlee.

“It has been great seeing Jordan’s professional development over the years he has worked for me,” Newlee stated. “After starting his career as a volunteer assistant coach at Idaho State and helping to build two separate championship programs alongside me, I know he is deserving of the responsibilities of an associate head coach. I appreciate all he has done and have no doubt his great work will continue in his new position here at Idaho.”

Green has had a major impact in recruiting and scouting during his time on the Vandal bench, helping the team to the 2013 NCAA Basketball Tournament and winning the 2013 Western Athletic Conference Tournament. He has helped coach Idaho’s post players, developing them into the top rebounding team in the Western Athletic Conference in the 2012-13 season. Under his guidance Alyssa Charlston earned First Team All-WAC honors in 2012-13.

Formerly an assistant coach at Idaho State, Green worked under Newlee from 2004-08. In his time at Idaho State, Green helped the Bengals to two Big Sky championships, one NCAA tournament appearance, and two appearances in the WNIT.

Green played basketball collegiately at George Fox University, where he was a three-time team captain and an NAIA All-America Honorable Mention. He earned his bachelor of science in education from George Fox in 2001, and received his master's in athletic administration and physical education from Idaho State in 2005.
