MOSCOW, Idaho—The University of Idaho women’s basketball team will look to cap off the regular season on a high note on Saturday when they take to the court against the Kansas City Kangaroos at the Cowan Spectrum.

For seniors Alyssa Charlston and Addie Schivo Saturday will mark their final regular season game as a Vandal. The two players will be honored in a pregame ceremony prior to the playing of the National Anthem.

“We are losing to real, real quality players and people,” head coach Jon Newlee stated. “Addie has battled through some injuries and hardships to make due. She has had a great senior year and we couldn’t have won the Western Athletic Conference Tournament without her last year. I do not know what else to say about Alyssa. She is one of the all-time great Vandals. She deserves to have her number retired.”

Idaho (21-8, 14-1 WAC) will be looking for its first 22-win season since 2003-04. Last time out, Idaho defeated UMKC in Kansas City, 81-64. Charlston and Christina Salvatore both netted 17 points in the win. Stacey Barr (13), Ali Forde (12) and Connie Ballestero (10) also recorded double digit scoring numbers.

Kansas City (11-17, 7-8 WAC) is coming off a win at Seattle U on Thursday. Freshman Calli White hit the game-winning jumper with 3.5 seconds left in overtime as the Kansas City completed the season sweep of the preseason WAC favorite.

First tip is scheduled for 2 p.m. Be sure to arrive early in order to help celebrate the careers of the two seniors that will be honored. After the game Alyssa Charlston will be signing autographs.
