Vandals climb one

The  University of Idaho women's golf team improved by seven strokes to climb into 12th at the SDSU Farms Invitational over The Farms Golf Club Course, a layout Vandal coach Lisa Johnson said is one of the most difficult her team will play.

Kaitlyn Oster slipped into a tie for 28th but Kristin Strankman fired a two-over 74 to move into a tie for 45th with Leilanie Kim improving by one with a 78 to tie for 54th with 18 holes to play. Also for the Vandals, Rachel Choi clipped five strokes off her opening round for a second-day 77 and a tie for 65 with Cassie McKinley improved by two for an 80 over the second 18 and a tie for 73rd with one round to play.

Idaho is at 619 - six back of Oklahoma State's 11th. UCLA leads the tournament with a five-under 571 with Stanford second in the elite field with a 575.
