|Kiser Earns XC Honor|
DENVER – Idaho’s Hannah Kiser was named the Western Athletic Conference women’s Cross Country Athlete of the week for the week of Sept. 9-15.
Kiser, a senior from Wenatchee, Wash., (Wenatchee HS), competed in her first race of the season and finished sixth out of 86 runners at the Sundodger Invitational at Seattle Wash. Her time of 20:50.0 in the women’s 6K run is second only to her time at the Sundodger last year, where she set an Idaho course record crossing the finish line with a time of 20:45.21.
“This was a great start to Hannah’s senior year,” Idaho director of cross country/track and field Wayne Phipps said. “It’s always nice to see your athletes being recognized for their hard work and accomplishments.”
Kiser helped aid the Vandals in their third-place overall finish in the meet with a score of 87 trailing only Washington (No. 7 in the nation) and Oregon (No. 7 in the West Region).
Utah Valley’s Trac Norris was honored at men’s Athlete of the Week.
