SAN ANTONIO, Texas - University of Idaho senior swimmer Cortnee Hanson broke the Vandals' 400 IM record during Friday's third day of the Western Athletic Conference championship meet. Hanson's 4:31.16 was .09 faster than JoJo Miller's 2007 mark of 4:31.25.

Her efforts enabled her to finish 10th and helped the Vandals stay in eighth place with one day remaining in the four-day meet. Hanson's mark wasn't the only school record to fall Friday. Senior Staci Stratton, senior Nicole Schuh, freshman Kelsie Saxe and junior Alyson O'Brien joined forces to finish eighth in the 400 medley relay in an Idaho record time of 3:51.79, which is a full second faster than the previous mark set in 2007.

O'Brien also collected points for the Vandals in the 200 free with a season-best 1:51.42 while Amanda Watson had a personal record time of 1:53.20 to finish 15th in the event. Saxe was seventh for the Vandals in the 100 fly after finishing in 56.68, while Treasa Ring was 14th in 57.71.
