Telles, from The Dalles, Ore., qualified for the prestigious event after finishing second at eight-under par at the qualifier at Juniper Golf Club at Redmond, Ore. He had rounds of 69-67 in the qualifying tournament.

As a true freshman last season, Telles played in eight tournaments with a per round average of 72.25.
