IRVINE, Calif. - University of Idaho sophomores Kaitlyn Oster and Leilanie Kim fired six-over 78s to lead the Vandals through the opening round of the UC Irvine Invitational presented by Kia.

They are six-over-par but only five shots out of fourth as the Vandals combined for a 317 during their first tournament of the spring. Gonzaga leads the event at seven-over 295 with Santa Clara second at 306 and Irvine and Sacramento State matching 308s.

Junior Rachel Choi is teid for 33rd at 80 with Cassie McKinley tied for 39th at 81, Kristin Strankman tied for 52nd at 83 and Allyssa Nilsson tied for 62nd at 89.
