The University of Idaho women's golf team is home - or close to it, for the only time during the season Monday and Tuesday when they take part in the annual WSU Inland Cup at Palouse Ridge Golf Course.

"We couldn't ask for a better time to play at home," coach Lisa Johnson said. "Coming off the last tournament at a very challenging course, we look forward to the familiarity of Palouse Ridge."

The young Vandal team - Rachel Choi is the lone senior, had a tough time at the Minnesota Open last week after a promising start at the Ptarmigan Fall Invitational opening week.

Johnson said Palouse Ridge provides a home course advantage in that the Vandals practice there regularly.

"We are comfortable playing the course under all conditions," Johnson said. "The team is striking the ball well and our speed on the greens is much improved. The key for us is to get hot with the putter early."
