PULLMAN,  Wash. - Leilanie Kim's first-day fourth helped the University of Idaho women's golf team to a fifth place start at the WSU Cougar Cup at Palouse Ridge Golf Club.

Kim had rounds of 76-71 for a 147 as the Vandals totaled a 612 after trimming six strokes off their opening 309 with a 303 in the afternoon. Host Washington State leads with a 588 with Gonzaga at 594, BYU at 601 and Santa Clara at 608.

Also for Idaho, Kaitlyn Oster is tied for 12th at 151 (75-76), Kassidy Long-Gohen is tied for 15th at 152 (75-77),  Cassie McKinley is tied for 23rd at 155 (79-76), Amy Hasenoehrl is tied for 38th at 159 (79-80), Rachel Choi is tied for 50th at 163 (82-81), Kristin Strankman is tied for 52nd at 164 (85-79), and Mary Sweeney is tied for 62nd at 167 (84-83).

The tournament concludes Tuesday.
