LAS CRUCES, N.M. - University of Idaho sophomore Matt Rawitzer fired a one-under 70 during the closing round of the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate to pull himself into a tie for first at the annual tournament played over the 6,999-yard New Mexico State University Golf Course.

Meanwhile, junior Jarred Bossio blazed through his final round with his second 64 of the fall. Tuesday's seven-under-par score was the lowest of the tournament and enabled him to tie for fifth after opening rounds of 73-74.

Rawitzer tied with New Mexico State's Timothy Madigan at 208 to share the medalist honors after rounds of 68-70-70. Bossio finished at 211 (73-74-64), while Justin Kadin tied for 33rd at 223 (72-76-75), Damian Telles tied for 52nd at 227 (72-78-77), and Zach Wanderscheid tied for 59th at 228 (75-77-76).

The Vandals - with rounds of 285, 297, 285 - finished at 867 and in fifth. Kansas won the 54-hole tournament with an 858 and was followed by UNLV at 859, NMSU at 864 and Washington State at 865.
