Former University of Idaho defensive tackle Jeff Robinson is headed for another Hall of Fame. Robinson, a charter member of the Vandal Athletics Hall of Fame, is one of six 2011 inductees into the Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame. The 49th annual event, officially the North Idaho Sports Banquet, is April 9 at the Best Western Coeur d'Alene Inn.

Robinson was a sack artist for the Vandals from 1989-92. He brought down opposing quarterbacks 57.5 times in his career, which is the best in Idaho history and nearly 20 better than the next best mark. For his career, he made 90 tackles in the backfield, which ranks second at Idaho, and he gathered 277 total tackles to rank 13th. He was a three-time All-Big Sky performer and a two-time Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year - the only Vandal defender to win the player of the year award multiple times.

After he collected 20 sacks in 1991 - an Idaho record, he was chosen to three All-America teams. He gained even more recognition in 1992 after he tallied 13.5 sacks, which led to five publications declaring him a first-team All-American. He was also a third-team All-American in 1990. He joins John Friesz as one of just two three-time All-Americans in Idaho football history. Not surprisingly, he was voted as the team's Most Valuable Defensive Player three years in a row from 1990-92.

The Denver Broncos picked him in the fourth round of the 1993 NFL Draft to begin an NFL career that continued into 2009 when he was a long snapper for the Seattle Seahawks. He picked up a Super Bowl ring in 1999 as a member of the St. Louis Rams.
