Spring 2011: Joitoiu posted a 15-11 record in singles play during the spring, and went 2-3 in the WAC. He was 15-10 at the No. 3 position and 0-1 at No. 4. In doubles play he went 16-8 on the year, including a 12-8 mark at No. 1 and a 4-0 record at No. 2.

Fall 2010: Joutiou went 8-3 in singles play on the season, winning six consecutive matches after dropping his first singles match of the season...he advanced to the round of 32 at the ITA Regional Tournament, and the round of 16 at the Pacific Northwest Intercollegiate...advanced to the semi-finals of the doubles bracket in the PNW Intercollegiate with parter Marius Cirstea...went 4-5 in doubles on the season, and played all nine matches with Cristea.

2009-10: Alex has gone 27-9 in singles matches in 2009-10 and 24-14 in doubles. Primarily a No. 5 player, Alex has gone 7-1 in the spring when playing in the No. 4 or No. 3 slot. Joitoiu won 13 out of 14 matches from Feb. 7 - April 2, and has seven wins over opponents from nationally ranked teams. On the doubles side he claimed the championship at the 16-team Gonzaga/Eastern Washington Classic in the fall with teammate Lachlan Reed. He beat Reed in the finals of the same even to claim the singles title. He also advanced to the round of 32 at the 128-player ITA DI Mountain Regional Championships.

2008-09: Joitoiu went 18-9 in singles matches during the spring season, and played at the No. 1, 2 and 3 positions. Went 16-10 in doubles competition, playing all but three matches in the No. 1 doubles slot.

Previous School: Joitoiu joins the Vandals after spending his freshman year at the University of Oklahoma. Joitoiu played both doubles and singles for the Sooners and helped them achieve a ranking as high as No. 33 in 2007.

Junior Tennis: Joitoiu was ranked as high as sixth in the junior national rankings and No. 30 in the menfs national ranking in Romania. Played in eight ATP singles events and 18 ATP doubles events. Won several national tournaments in Romania and had an ITF ranking as high as No. 463.

Personal: Joitoiu plays right handed...Starting playing tennis at the age of 6...Is the son of Niculae Joitoiu and Catela Joitoiu.
