MOSCOW, Idaho – Add another one to the list for Idaho senior kicker Trey Farquhar.
Farquhar was honored on Tuesday as one of three Stars of the Week for the second time in three weeks by the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award, presented by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission.
The fourth-year Vandal kicker connected on all four field goal attempts and both PATs in Idaho’s 26-18 victory over New Mexico State on Saturday. He hit from 55, 53, 39 and 32 yards to move his kicking tally to 10-of-11 this season.
The 55-yarder as time expired in the first half tied his career long and the 53-yarder in the third quarter gave him his ninth career field goal of 50 yards or longer – an Idaho school record. He’s made all seven of his attempts this season from beyond 40 yards and leads the Vandals with 39 points. In the last two seasons, Farquhar is 5-of-6 from 50 or more yards.
The Groza Star of the Week honor goes along with his Western Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week award and his College Football Performance Awards National Kicker of the Week honor, also for the second time in three weeks.
