2013: Had a stellar freshman season as the nation’s #1 punter with an average of 47.8 yards per kick ... he was a Walter Camp All-American after breaking the NCAA record for a freshman punter as well as the NCAA record for a punter who kicked at least 75 times in a season ... ... he was the FBS Independent Special Teams Player of the Year and was on Athlon Sports All-Freshman team ... he was a first-team all-Independent choice of CollegeSportsMadness.com, second team All-American by SB Nation, third team All-American by the Associated Press, and honorable mention All-American by Sports Illustrated ... he punted 75 times for 3,587 yards ... his career long punt was 65 yards and he had seven punts of 60 or more yards, and 27 of 50-59 yards ... he was one of just two FBS players who kicked and punted for his team.
High school: Kicked a 67-yard field goal that broke an 83-year old Washington High School record and was within one yard of the national record of 68. He doesn’t only kick them long, he’s accurate. He’s been highly recognized throughout Washington and particularly in the Greater Spokane League. As a junior, he was successful on 89 percent of his field goal attempts and was rewarded with all-state and all-GSL honors. He also was all-GSL as a sophomore and senior. During his senior season, he was the all-GSL punter as well after averaging 48 yards per kick. He averaged 39 per punt as a junior.
