James Baker, who played running back for the University of Idaho the past two seasons, has been selected to compete in the Medal of Honor Bowl – an all-star game for draft-eligible seniors.

Baker is one of three running backs competing for the National Team, which is led by head coach Chan Gailey with assistants Bob Valesente, Ethan Horton, Kevin Patullo, Donnie Woods, John Bock, Matt Hartle, and Bobby Cremins. Each team is composed of 50 players from across the national. The majority of the players are from FBS and FCS programs, although select players of other divisions are invited.

The Medal of Honor Bowl kicks off Saturday at 11 a.m. (PT) at Johnson Hagood Stadium at The Citadel at Charleston, S.C. The game benefits the Wounded Warrior Project and the Medal of Honor Museum.

Baker, a native of Deerfield, Fla., finished his career at Idaho with 983 rushing yards and 1,236 all-purpose yards. He had his best game as a Vandal with 150 yards on 23 carries at Arkansas State in 2013. He eclipsed the 100-yard mark later in the season with 114 on 24 carries against Texas State.
