Five University of Idaho men's tennis players were honored for their academics by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Taylor Bieberle, Filip Fichtel, Jake Knox, Cesar Torres and Abid Akbar earned ITA scholar-athlete recognition by posting a 3.50 or higher grade point average (on a 4.00 scale) during the 2011-12 academic year.
In addition to the ITA honor, those same five players, along with Cristobal Ramos Salazar, earned academic all-WAC status for the 2011-12 year as well.
"It is great to see the guys recognized for their academic success," Idaho coach Jeff Beaman said. "To combine the success they have had on the court with a great academic record shows the effort they put into being a student athlete."
