LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The University of Idaho men’s golf team,
led by Jarred Bossio and Gordon Webb, is tied for sixth after the first two
rounds of the annual Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate at the New Mexico State
University Golf Course.
The Vandals are at six-over 574 and knotted with San Jose
State. UNLV gave itself an 11-stroke lead with 18 to play after rounds of
272-271 for a 25-under opening-day 543. Wichita State is second at 14-under 554
with host New Mexico State at nine-under 559, Kansas at four-under 564 and
Nevada at even-par 568.
Bossio and Webb matched even-par 142s with Bossio going
72-70 and Webb a steady 71-71 for their tie for 17th. Justin Kadin
is one stroke back at one-over 143 and a tie for 25th with Alex
Pounds at 147 (tied for 36th) and Stefan Richardson at 152 (tied for
61st).
