Vandals tied for third after opening round

The University of Idaho men's golf team is tied for third after the opening round of the Jim West Invitational Sunday.

The Vandals are at 292 - eight strokes back of first-day leader Stephen F. Austin but just two behind second-place Sam Houston State.

Bossio opened with a 70, which is three back for the first-day lead of 67 by Mitchell McLeroy of Stephen F. Austin.

Also for the Vandals, Gordon Webb is tied for 11th at 72, Justin Kadin is tied for 21st at 74, Stefan Richardson is tied for 46th at 76, and Sean McMullen is tied for 57th at 78.

The second 18 holes are Monday with the final round Tuesday.
