MEADOW VISTA, Calif. - The University of Idaho men's golf team is just six strokes back of opening-round leader UC Davis after shooting an eight-over 296 at the Winchester Classic.

Senior Jarred Bossio led the Vandals during the opening-round with a three-under 69, which puts him in a tie for second and just one stroke back of leader Kevin Lucas of Nevada. Justin Kadin and Sean McMullen are tied for 17th at three-over 75 with Gordon Webb tied for 28th at five-over 77 and Stefan Richardson tied for 34th at seven-over 79.

The tournament continues Saturday and concludes Sunday at Winchester Golf Course.
