CHERRY HILLS VILLAGE, Colo. - Jarred Bossio, who finished his golf career at Idaho last spring, is among 33 players at two-over-par 72 after the opening round of the U.S. Amateur Golf Championship.

Bossio had four bogeys and two birdies in his round over the CommonGround Golf Course. He is tied for 84th in the field of 311 players, which will be cut to the low 64 for match play after the stroke play rounds.

David Nuhn, a former Vandal and native of Moscow, is at 5-over and tied for 184th.

Bobby Wyatt of Mobile, Ala., leads the tournament at seven-under 53 with Chris Williams of Moscow among a group of six players at 65.
