DENVER - Idaho's Dmitry Perevoshchikov has been named the Western Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Players of the Week, for the week of Feb. 11-17.

Perevoshchikov, a sophomore from Izheusk, Russia, remains unbeaten in singles competition on the season after a pair of straight set wins at No. 1 singles. Perevoshchikov defeated Utah State's Sven Poslusny (6-3, 6-4) and Weber State's Jakub Gewert (6-1, 6-2). He partnered Ivan Krijanto in No. 3 doubles to defeat Utah State's Andrew Whiting and Matt Sweet (8-2). Later in the day he paired with Jose Bendeck in the No. 2 doubles position, falling 8-6 to Weber State's Sanjay Goswami and Todd Fought. The Vandals beat WAC foe Utah State, 7-0, to move to 1-0 in WAC play this season. Perevoshchikov is now 6-0 in singles play this season (No. 1/3-0; No. 2/3-0), helping the Vandals continue their undefeated spring season.

"Dmitry is still working his way back into competitive tennis mode both mentally and physically," Idaho coach Jeff Beaman said. "To see the results he is putting up after close to three years without competing shows that he can be one of best guys competing in the college game and go on to the next level if things keep falling back into place."

The Vandals, who are now 7-0 on the season and 1-0 in the WAC, return to action on Feb.23 to face Portland and Portland State.
