Aaron Cockerill fired an even-par 72 to lead the University of Idaho men's golf team to sixth after the first of three days of the Wyoming Desert Classic. Gordon Webb and Dylan Baker backed him with one-over 73s, while Zach Wanderscheid is at 77 and Sean McMullen at 78.

TCU is the first day leader with an 11-under 277. St. Mary's, San Francisco and Texas Tech are knotted at 284 with Oregon State in fifth at 291 - four strokes ahead of the Vandals.

Cockerill birdied the par-4 fourth and ninth holes as well as the par-3 12th to offset a double on the par-4 fifth and a bogey on the par-4 13.

Webb's round was similar with three birdies, one  bogey and a triple on the par-4 third, while Baker birdied four and 13 and had bogeys at five, six and 12.
