Vandals tied for fourth

PULLMAN, Wash. - University of Idaho freshman Jared du Toit had the low opening-day for the Vandals in his first collegiate tournament.

Du Toit is tied for seventh after rounds of 69-69 for a 138 - just three strokes off co-leaders Blake Snyder of Washington State and Cody Blick of San Jose State, at the Itani Homes Collegiate at Palouse Ridge Golf Course.

Du Toit's efforts helped the Vandals into a tie for fourth iwth 18 holes to play. Host Washington State leads the tournament at 552 with Cal State Fullerton second at 559 and Sacramento State third at 565. The Vandals are at 567.

Also for Idaho, Aaron Cockerill is tied for 21st at 142 (69-73), Sean McMullen is tied for 26th at 143 (72-71), Rylee Iacolucci (74-71) and Scott Riley (70-75) are tied for 38th at 145, Garrett Howard is tied for 47th at 146 (73-73), Chris Wilson is tied for 59th at 148 (78-70) and Alex Pounds is 81st at 164 (80-84).
