Darwin Walters was a solid player for a Big Sky Champion team in 1968. Walters helped lead Idaho to an 18-10 overall record during the season, which the Vandals capped with their third successive Big Sky title. Following the season, Walters was honored as an All-Big Sky selection. After his time at Idaho, Walters continued to compete in amateur tournaments and earned rankings as high as No. 1 nationally in both singles, doubles and mixed doubles. He also won five United States Tennis Association national titles in doubles and mixed doubles between 1994 and 2003. In addition to his time as a player, he also served as a coach to numerous junior athletes and has seen many of them go on to productive college and professional careers.
