Spring 2013: Cirstea earned first-team all-WAC honors in double and second-team all-WAC honors in singles in 2013…went 15-8 during the spring, playing all of his matches at the top three singles positions…he was 12-8 at No. 3, 2-0 at No. 2 and 1-0 at No. 1…in doubles play he went 18-5, including an 18-3 record with partner Abid Akbar…Cirstea also earned WAC Player of the Week honors once and was a WAC all-tournament team selection in doubles.

Fall 2012: Cirstea went 2-3 in singles play and 9-2 in doubles…he teamed up with Abid Akbar to win the ITA Mountain Region doubles draw, and advanced to the National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships for the second consecutive season, where the pairing went 2-1…advanced to the round of 32 in singles play at the ITA Mountain Regional championship.

Spring 2012: Cirstea earned second-team all-WAC honors in singles and was a WAC Player of the Week in 2012...he went 7-19in singles in the spring, playing the majority of his matches at No. 1...Cirstea went 7-16 at No. 1 and 0-3 at No. 2 doubles play he posted a 13-11 record in dual matches, going 6-9 at No. 1, 0-1 at No. 2 and 7-1 at No. 3.

Fall 2011: Cirstea’s fall season was highlighted by a run of five consecutive doubles wins with partner Andrew Dobbs to claim the ITA Mountain Region championship and earn a bid to National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in Queens, N.Y ….posted a 7-3 doubles record overall after falling to two national top-10 pairings at the NIIC…went 4-3 in singles play on the season and advanced to the semifinals at the Boise State Fall Tournament in both singles and doubles.

Spring 2011: Cirstea was ranked as high as No. 56 in the country in singles play on the season. He finished the spring with a 12-14 record in singles play, all at the No. 1 position. He went 11-9 in doubles action on the season. Cirstea was a first-team all-WAC selection, and earned WAC Player of the Week honors one time during the season.

Fall 2010: Marius went 6-3 in singles action in the fall and 4-5 in doubles...he won his first five singles matches of the season...he advanced to the round of 32 at the ITA Regional Tournament in the singles bracket ...advanced to the semi-finals of the doubles bracket in the Pacific Northwest Intercollegiate with partner Alex Joitoiu, who he played all nine doubles matches with during the season.

Spring 2010: Saw extensive action in singles in his first spring dual-match season at TCU ... started the spring slow in singles before posting a team-best 5-1 record in Mountain West Conference play ... helped the Frogs squeak out 4-3 wins with victories over UNLV's Charlie Alvarado (6-3, 6-4) and Utah's Stephen Jacobs (6-4, 6-3) ... finished the spring 7-17 in singles ... was 1-2 in doubles while playing with Paul Chappell.

Fall 2009: Led TCU with a 5-3 singles record in fall tournament competition... advanced to the Round of 16 at the Wilson/ITA Texas Regional Championships with a pair of victories ... posted his first career win over a ranked opponent when he took down Baylor's No. 85-rated Attilla Bucko (3-6, 7-5, 7-5) in the Round of 32... reached Round 3 of prequalifying singles at the ITA D'Novo All-American Championships... won a pair of consolation matches in the HEB Baylor Invitational following an opening round setback in the main draw... earned a No. 44 preseason national doubles ranking with teammate Slah Mbarek, although the pair did not play together during the fall.

High School/Juniors: Finished 2009 ranked No. 1177 in the ITF world rankings... an up-and-comer on the world Futures scene during the year before joining TCU, winning main draw rounds in both singles and doubles... advanced to the quarterfinals of singles play at the Romania F8 Futures event in the summer of 2009.

Personal:Cirstea is the son of Liviu and Angela Cirstea... majoring in business at Idaho.
