|Men's tennis falls to Fresno|
MOSCOW, Idaho - The No. 44 Fresno State Bulldogs became just the second team to hand the No. 54 Idaho men's tennis team a loss since mid-February on Saturday, as Idaho fell 4-2 on its home courts.
For just the third time this season, the Vandals weren't able to win the doubles point, which proved costly down the stretch. Idaho got wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles from Marius Cirstea (6-3, 7-5) and Lachlan Reed (7-5, 7-6).
Alex Joitiou won the first set of his No. 3 singles match 6-4, but fell 6-3 and 6-1 in the final two sets. Abid Akbar fell at No. 4 singles for Idaho, as did Jose Bendeck in a close match at No. 5, which clinched the win for Fresno State. Alan Shin split his first two sets at No. 6 before the third set was called off due Fresno State's victory.
The Vandals fall to 15-4 on the season and 2-1 in the WAC with the loss. Idaho wraps up the weekend against No. 56 Hawai'i on Sunday at 11 a.m.
