HONOLULU, Hawai'i - The Idaho men's tennis team won for the 15th time in 16 matches this spring when it picked up a 6-1 win over the University of Hawai'i on Friday evening.
Idaho earned the doubles point with a pair of 8-5 victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, then cruised with straight-set victories in four of its five singles wins.
"The guys really came out and competed very well," Idaho coach Jeff Beaman said. "I was very impressed with our one and two doubles and how they stepped up to clinch the doubles point with more emotion intensity than I've seen lately so we need to carry that forward. In singles we came out and played hard, which was great."
The Vandals will return to action at the Boise State Tournament on March 22 and 23.
