University of Idaho sophomore Kayla Mortellaro collected her second Western Athletic Conference honor of the 2009-10 season and first of the spring when she was chosen the WAC Golfer of the Week after winning the Northern Migration Invitational with a five-under-par 211 last week. She won by three strokes and had a 10-stroke margin over the third-place finisher.
Mortellaro, whose is ranked 23rd nationally by GolfStat, has the lowest average in the conference by almost two strokes with a 72.19.
The Vandals, who spent the entire Northern Migration tournament chasing Texas-San Antonio only to lose by one, climbed to 43rd in the GolfStat rankings and are tied for 39th in the Golf World/NGCA poll.
