MOSCOW, Idaho - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has announced its Scholar-Athlete award winners, and six University of Idaho tennis players earned the individual honor, while the women's team also earned the team honor.

Daniela Cohen, Gabriela Niculescu and Yvette Ly were named Scholar-Athletes for the Vandal women, and Abid Akbar, Dylan Bodet and Jake Knox earned the honor for the men.

The women's team was named an academic All-America by having a team grade point average above 3.2.

"This past year was a great year with both on court performance, where both teams had 20-plus win seasons, and in the classroom with great grade point averages and the graduation of four men and two women," said Idaho Director of Tennis Jeff Beaman.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
