Idaho’s Rachel Millet and Paige Hunt have been
named the Verizon WAC Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for the week
of Jan. 23-29.
Millet, a freshman from Spokane, Wash. (Ferris HS), won
three individual events and was part of a relay win during a dual against
Oregon State. Millet captured first place in the 50-meter freestyle (23.98),
the 100-meter free (51.51) and the 200-meter free (1:52.71), and swam a leg of
the first-place 200-meter medley relay team. She earned first place in all four
events in which she competed. Millet was named Swimmer of the Week last week,
and this is her third honor of the season.
Hunt, a junior from Mesa, Ariz. (Mesa CC), won both diving
events against Oregon State. She claimed the 1-meter event with a score of
265.85, a new season high. Her score of 291.85 in the three-meter event was
just .58 short of her own school record, which she set last week. This is the
second time this season she has been named Diver of the Week.
