LEWISTON, Idaho – The Idaho women’s tennis team picked up
its fourth straight win on Friday when it beat Weber State 7-0. The match was
moved from Moscow to Lewiston due to weather.
The Vandals have won four straight for the second time this
season and improve to 15-5 on the season with the win.
Idaho swept the doubles point with an 8-3 victory from
Victoria Lozano and Almudena Sanz at No. 1, and 8-0 win from Molly Knox and
Sophie Vickers at No. 2 and an 8-4 win by Alejandra Lozano and Beatriz Flores
at No. 3.
Victoria Lozano win 6-3, 6-1 at the top singles spot,
followed by a 6-1, 6-3 win from Sanz at No. 2, and a 6-2, 6-2 win from Knox at
No. 3. Vickers win 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4, Alejandra Lozano won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 5
and Flores completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 6.
The Vandals will remain at home for their next two matches,
as they host Nevada on April 13 and Oregon on April 14. Idaho will look to get
even in Western Athletic Conference play against the Wolf Pack after falling to
New Mexico State in the conference opener.
