Stefan Richardson, now an assistant golf coach at the University
of Idaho but a player for the Vandals until his May 2012 graduation, is one of
147 college golfers nationwide honored by Cleveland Golf/Srixon as an
All-American Scholar.
During his career as a Vandal, Richardson (Renton, Wash.)
played in 38 tournaments and had a career scoring average of 74.86. He had six
top-10 finishes and was in the top 25 in 11 events. His best finish was a tie
for second, which he accomplished twice – at the 2011 Jim Colbert Invitational
and at the 2010 Oregon Duck Invitational.
To be eligible for the team, a player must be a junior or
senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate
level, participate in 70 percent of his team’s competitive rounds or compete in
the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average less than 76.0 in Division I,
78.0 in Division II, 77.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, and maintain a
minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient also must be of high
moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
