AUSTIN, Texas – University of Idaho sophomore Rachel Millet
broke the Vandal record for the 200 individual medley in her first event at the
AT&T Winter National Swim Meet.
Millet was clocked in 2 minutes, 3.60 seconds – good enough
for 38th in the star-studded field that includes past Olympic team
members as well as the nation’s top collegians.
“It was a good morning swim for Rachel,” coach Mark Sowa
said. “We really liked her first half of the race. Her breaststroke needs to
improve so that gives us something to focus on as we getback to training.
“Overall, this is a nice start to our weekend.”
Also at the elite meet for the Vandals are senior Kelsie Saxe (100 and 200 breast), sophomore
Laura Griffing (100 breast), freshman Janelle Stacy (100 back) and freshman
Jamie Sterbis (200 fly).
