Alejandra Lozano, Almudena Sanz and Galina Bykova picked up straight-set wins at the top of the singles lineup. Beatriz Flores fell at No. 4 but Belen Barcenilla overcame a first-set loss with a 4-6, 6-1, 10-6 win at No. 5 and Sophie Vickers won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6.

“Abid and I were really pleased with the effort today,” assistant coach Art Hoomiratana said. “They competed very well and fought hard for the entire match.”
