SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Idaho women’s tennis team has won nine consecutive matches, and as a result, has climbed up to No. 51 in the latest ITA National Top 75 rankings, released Tuesday.

Idaho’s only loss of the season came in the season-opener at No. 53 Washington State. The Vandals entered the top 75 at No. 73 on Feb. 18 then fell out of the rankings, despite not losing, on Feb. 25, before jumping all the way to No. 51 on Tuesday.

“It is great to see the women ranked at 51,” Idaho head coach Jeff Beaman said. “We want to see how high we can get for the potential for an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, but our only true goal right now is continuing to improve and winning the automatic bid by winning the WAC title.”

The Vandals are 9-1 on the season and play three matches in Honolulu, Hawai`i, this week against Sacred Heart (Mar. 6), Hawai`i Pacific (Mar. 7) and Hawai`i (Mar. 8).
