MOSCOW, Idaho – Claire Yang, a rising sophomore who spent her freshman season at Fresno State, has signed a scholarship agreement to join the Idaho women’s tennis team this fall.

“We’re looking for Claire to make an immediate impact with our program,” Idaho coach Jeff Beaman said. “She is coming from nationally-ranked Fresno State where she was ranked as high as No. 41 in the nation in Division I doubles.”

Yang and doubles partner Aishwarya Agrawal entered the 2014 season ranked No. 41 in the nation and No. 7 in the Northwest region in doubles. She went 3-2 in dual-match singles play in 2014 at the Nos. 5 and 6 positions.

Yang is originally from Taipei, Taiwan and was the 2012 National High School Athletics Group Game champion, and Mian-Chang ITF G4 Doubles runner-up.
