SEATTLE -- The Idaho volleyball team put its three-match win streak on the line Friday night at Seattle U and escaped with a 3-2 win over the Redhawks in Western Athletic Conference play.

Idaho won 25-16, 19-25, 25-18, 19-25, 15-13 to extend its streak to four straight wins and improve to 7-10 overall and 5-2 in the WAC. The Redhawks fall to 6-11 on the season and 1-6 in WAC play.

It should come as no surprise the match went the distance. Idaho and Seattle U lead the WAC by far in five-set matches this season, with Friday's being the eighth of 2012 for Idaho and the seventh for Seattle U. The next most of any WAC team is three.

Idaho freshman Jenna Ellis put on a show from the service line, finishing the match with six aces. That total is the second highest by any WAC player this season and the sixth highest single-match total in Idaho history. The Vandals finished with a season-high 12 aces in the match, the second most of any WAC team in a match this season.

Idaho junior Allison (Walker) Baker had 20 kills and 17 digs in the match. It was her seventh 20-kill match of the year, and she finished two digs shy of matching her career-high. The double-double was her WAC-leading 12th of 2012.

Sophomore Alyssa Schultz had 14 kills, seven blocks and five digs in the match while hitting .448. Freshman Katelyn Peterson had 10 kills, six digs and three blocks. It was the fourth time in 2012 the Vandals had three players with double-digit kills, and Idaho improved to 3-1 in those matches. Senior Julia Church had a season-high six kills in the match and added four blocks for the Vandals.

The Vandals hit .215 overall with 58 kills and 20 errors on 177 swings. Senior setter Jenny Feicht finished with 44 assists and added six digs for Idaho. The Vandals were out dig 93-77 in the match but held the Redhawks to a .193 hitting percentage and out-blocked SU 11.0-6.5. The Vandals improve to 5-1 in 2012 when holding their opponent under .200 hitting.

Idaho will be on the road for a pair of matches next week as it visits UT Arlington on Oct. 11 and Louisiana Tech on Oct. 13. The Vandals will return to Moscow Oct. 18 to face Utah State and Oct. 20 to take on San Jose State.
