|Volleyball returns home|
MOSCOW, Idaho -- The Idaho volleyball team will take on a pair of Western Athletic Conference opponents it has never faced before when it hosts Kansas City (Oct. 17) and Chicago State (Oct. 19). Both matches begin at 7 p.m. in Memorial Gym.
Idaho enters the week having dropped two straight matches with a 3-1 loss at Seattle U and a 3-0 loss at New Mexico State. The Vandals are 10-8 overall but have fallen into a tie with Bakersfield for fifth place in the WAC standings with a 3-3 conference record.
Kansas City is also 10-8 overall but sits just ahead of the Vandals in the conference standings with a 4-2 league record. Kansas City ranks second in the nation with 2.99 blocks per set and 30th with 16.37 digs. Emma Hagerdorn leads the WAC and ranks 11th in the country with 1.41 blocks per set.
Chicago State is 2-18 in 2013 and 0-6 in WAC play. The Cougars are coming off a five-set loss to Texas-Pan American in which CSU hitter Paula Sioto led the team with 26 kills. Chicago State ranks fourth in the WAC with 1.22 service aces per set.
