MOSCOW, Idaho -- After a pair of Western Athletic Conference sweeps moved Idaho up one spot in the league standings last week, the Vandals will hit the road again for league matches at WAC-leading Utah Valley and Bakersfield.

Idaho (12-8, 5-3 WAC) and Utah Valley (13-11, 7-2 WAC) will square off at 6 p.m. (PT) on Oct. 24 in Orem, Utah. The Wolverines beat Idaho 3-2 in Moscow on Sept. 26 in the WAC-opener for both teams. The Wolverines are tied with Seattle U atop the WAC standings with 7-2 records.

The Vandals will visit Bakersfield (13-9, 5-3 WAC) on Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. (PT). The Roadrunners lead the WAC in kills (13.87) and assists (13.23) per set, and rank second with 1.30 aces per set. Idaho dropped the first set at home to Bakersfield before rattling off three straight for a 3-1 win back on Sept. 28. The Vandals haven’t lost a set at home since.

Bakersfield handed New Mexico State its first WAC loss last week and Utah Valley followed with 3-0 sweep of the Aggies to knock NM State (11-10, 6-2) from first to third in the league standings. Idaho follows at 5-3.

The Vandals are 1-2 on the road in WAC play this season, but didn’t have freshman defensive specialist Terra Varney in any of its previous WAC road matches. Varney averages 2.61 digs per set.
