Two Vandal women honored

EUGENE, Ore. - After going 2-1at the Oregon Tournament, two Idaho women's basketball players earned all-tournament team honors. Vandal seniors Yinka Olorunnife and Derisa Taleni were among the five players to earn the honor.

Olorunnife had her fourth double-double of the season with a 17-point, 14-rebound performance in a win against Sacramento State, and averaged 12.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, while adding 1.3 assists and 1.3 blocks. All four of Olorunnife's blocks came in Idaho's 69-59 win over Cal. State Bakersfield on Sunday.

Taleni scored 11 points and had eight rebounds against CSU Bakersfield, and connected on 7-of-8 free throws in the game. She had seven points, six assists and four rebounds as Idaho beat Sacramento State on Nov. 27. For the tournament, Taleni averaged 8.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game, while hitting 2-of-4 3-pointers and draining 8-of-10 free throws.

The Vandals improved to 5-1 on the season after wins over Sacramento State and Cal. State Bakersfield, and a loss to Oregon.
