SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Idaho swimming and diving team finished eighth at the Western Athletic Conference Championships but along the way were records and NCAA B cut qualifying times as the freshmen-laden team tallied 213 points.

Freshman Shana Lim excelled in her specialty - the backstroke, with a WAC, meet, pool and school record in the 100-meter event. She clocked a 55.00 - an NCAA B cut qualifying time and just .45 off the A cut mark. At the time of the race, she was 16th in the nation. She notched a second individual B cut time in the 200 back with a 1:58.64 - more than two seconds faster than her Idaho record of 2:01.89 set earlier this season.

Lim also swam a leg of all three B cut qualifying - and school record-setting, relays. She swam the leadoff leg of the 200 medley relay with Kelsie Saxe, Calleagh Brown and Si Jia Pang completing the race in 1:42.55. She was the third leg of the 200 free team after seniors Staci Stratton and Alyson O'Brien led off and Pang anchored the fourth-place time of 1:32.63. Stratton led off the 400 free relay with Lim, freshman Megan Venlos and O'Brien finishing out the school record time of 3:24.08.

Stratton reclaimed her school-record in the 50 free with a 23.53 - 10th at the championships, while freshman Lyndsay Williams set the school 400 IM record with her 4:25.88 (10th at the meet).

Sophomore Paige Hunt, competing in platform diving for the first time this season, was sixth with a 192.60.
