MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho men’s basketball team will be at home on Saturday (Nov. 16) when it hosts Northwest Nazarene in Moscow, where it will play just two more games before Christmas. The Vandals and Crusaders tipoff at 7 p.m. in Memorial Gym.

Idaho and NNU each enter Saturday’s game with 1-1 records on the young season. The Vandals are coming off a loss at Oklahoma, where they opened the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, while the Crusaders beat Willamette in their last outing.

Idaho senior Stephen Madison is one of two Western Athletic Conference players averaging a double-double on the season, as he enters Saturday with a 14.0 scoring average to go along with 10.5 rebounds per game. Senior transfer Glen Dean is Idaho’s leading scorer through two games with 14.5 points per game.

The Crusaders, who compete in NCAA Division II and the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, are led by 14.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game from Kevin Rima. Michael Loomis adds 13.5 points and 3.0 rebounds per game and Mario Donaldson averages 9.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.

Saturday will be the second all-time meeting between the two schools. Idaho beat NNU 94-55 in December of 1980 en route to back-to-back Big Sky championships.

The Vandals will head to Portland to wrap up the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic Nov. 21-23 where they will face Portland, North Texas and Columbia. Beginning with its trip to Portland, Idaho will play nine of its next 10 games outside of Moscow, including two games at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho against Boise State (Nov. 27) and Idaho State (Dec. 20). The lone exception to Idaho’s busy travel schedule is a date with border rival Washington State in the Cowan Spectrum on Dec. 7.
