MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho men’s basketball team will step out of Western Athletic Conference play to host CSU Northridge on Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. in a return game from Idaho’s visit to Northridge earlier this season. Due to the University of Idaho Jazz Festival, Tuesday’s game will be played in Memorial Gym.

The Vandals enter the game at 10-16 overall and their fourth one-point loss of the season, this time at WAC-leading Utah Valley, an 89-88 defeat despite Stephen Madison’s 42-point effort. Madison leads the WAC with 19.2 points per game this season.

CSU Northridge is coached by former New Mexico State and Sacramento Kings coach Reggie Theus, who is in his first season at the helm in Northridge. The Matadors are 13-14 overall and 5-7 in the Big West this season, but just 2-11 on the road. Three CSUN players average better than 15 points per game, led by Stephen Maxwell’s 17.4, followed by Stephan Hicks with 16.5 and Josh Greene with 15.5 points per game. The Matadors have gone to overtime five times this season, including four of their last six games, going 4-1 in OT games this season.

CSU Northridge took a 79-69 win over Idaho on Dec. 22 in Northridge, Calif. The Vandals got game-highs of 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists from Stephen Madison in that game, but shot just 39.1 percent from the field and 25.0 percent from 3. Connor Hill (12), Perrion Callandret (11) and Glen Dean (10) also scored in double figures for Idaho. Northridge was led by 20 points from Stephan Hicks. The Matadors enjoyed a 47-33 rebounding advantage in the game.

Idaho will play its final home game of 2013-14 on Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. against Grand Canyon. That game will also be played in Memorial Gym, and will be Senior Day for Madison, Joe Kammerer and Glen Dean.
