MOSCOW, Idaho—The University of Idaho women’s basketball team will take its two-game winning streak into Cheney, Wash., on Saturday. The Vandals will take on the Eagles at Reese Court at 7:00 p.m. PT.

“I know it is going to be a tough, physical battle,” head coach Jon Newlee said. “They have some players on the perimeter that can shoot the three. They are very good inside. I think we are going to have to be ready for a big for a battle up in Cheney, it always is. We are going to have to be at our best to be successful up there.”

Former and soon to be again Big Sky Rivals, Idaho and Eastern Washington have met 62 times prior to Saturday’s match up. EWU holds a 34-28 advantage. Idaho is 12-19 all-time in Cheney. Last season the schools met in Moscow. Idaho won 68-66 on an Alyssa Charlston buzzer beater with .2 seconds to play. Charlston scored 29 points, one shy of her career-high.

Idaho’s last three wins have been by 20 points or more. It’s the first time Idaho has won three games by 20 or more points since the 2010-11 season (four wins).

At 7-4 the Vandals are second in the Western Athletic Conference standings, during non-conference play. Following EWU, Idaho will host Wyoming and travel to Texas to close out the non-conference schedule.
