MOSCOW, Idaho—Senior post-player Alyssa Charlston was named to the Capitol One Academic All-District First Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday. Idaho is in District 7 with schools from Colo., Idaho, Kan., Mont., Neb., N.M., Okla., Texas and Wyo.

Charlston, a broadcast & digital media major, holds a 3.97 GPA and is second on the team in scoring with 15.1 points per game. Charlston became Idaho’s all-time leader in games played earlier this season. The Sammamish, Wash., native has played in all 117 games in her career. Charlston currently stands sixth all-time with 1,417 career points, eighth in field goals made (537), 10th in three-point FG percentage (.352), fifth in rebounds (779) and fourth in blocks (109) for the Vandals.

Charlston, a consensus 2013-14 Preseason All-WAC First Team selection, earned Third Team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors in the 2011-12 season. She has twice earned First Team All-WAC honors also earning All-WAC Tournament honors twice. On the court she has been named WAC Player of the Week three times in her career. In the classroom, Charlston has been on the Dean’s List on five occasions and is a three-time All-Academic Conference honoree.

First Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first, second and third team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
