2012 Outdoor: Turpen competed in the distance events for Idaho as a true freshman … finished 10th and posted a career-best time of 4:11.45 in the 1500m at the Buc Scoring Invitational on March 24 … took seventh in the 1500m at the Duane Hartman Invitational on April 28 with a time of 4:12.67 … ran a career-best 2:01.51 in a fifth-place finish in the 800m at the Vandal Jamboree on May 5 … finished 29th in the 1500m at the Sam Adams Classic on March 31 with a time of 4:13.67 … Spring WAC All-Academic honoree.

2012 Indoor: Turpen competed in the distance events for Idaho as a freshman … ran a career-best 4:33.15 in the mile run at the Idaho Indoor Open on Feb. 4, where he finished 23rd … took 11th in his first career race with a mile time of 4:38.64 at the Cougar Indoor on Jan. 28 … finished 17th in the mile run at the Vandal Collegiate on Feb. 18 with a time of 4:36.59 … Winter WAC All-Academic.

2011 Cross Country: Turpen posted his best finish of the season after taking 49th at the Sundodger Invitational with a time of 26:39.16 … finished 62nd at the Inland Northwest Cross Country Classic with a time of 20:32.

High School: Turpen was a four-year varsity performer in cross country and track and field at Richland High School … he was a Second-Team All-Big 9 honoree on the track and was also voted team captain … posted career bests of 51.0 in the 400m, 1:59.32 in the 800m, 4:21.45 in the 1600m and 10:14.00 in the 3200m.

Personal: He is the son of Greg and Sharon Turpin … has one sister, Sierra … he was a four-year honor student at Richland High School … intends to major in Athletic Training at Idaho.
