EUGENE, Ore. - Two first-time Vandal NCAA qualifiers capped off the University of Idaho's weekend at the West Preliminary Round on Saturday in the men's and women's 5000m.
Freshman Hannah Kiser and junior Barry Britt competed in the 5k for the Vandals and both finished higher than their entry standing.
Britt took 34th overall with a time of 14:17.45, which is better than his No. 44 overall ranking in the region, while Kiser bumped up four spots from her No. 36 ranking to take 32nd in the women's race with a 16:53.10.
The two finishers complete Idaho's weekend at the NCAA's Preliminary Round. Of the team's nine competitors, one senior, Eugenio Mannucci in the men's shot put, will advance to Des Moines, Iowa, for the NCAA Championships final round. It will be Mannucci's second career trip to the finals.
