SPOKANE, Wash. - Wind and snow weren't enough to slow the University of Idaho's track and field teams, who went on to win eight events and post personal bests at the War VI Regional Dual.

"We had a very good meet," said coach Wayne Phipps, whose athletes battled winds of as much as 30 mph in addition to snow flurries. "I was very impressed by our throwers, 400 hurdlers and 400m runners."

While he didn't his race - the 800 meters, Kyle Tylor drew praise from Phipps for his personal best (1:52.51) in the 800 meters, where he placed fourth.

Cait Rowland won the 400 hurdles in 1:05.20, while Lauren Schaffer and Ben Ayesu-Attah won the 400 meter events - Schaffter in 56.22 and Ayesu-Attah in 48.34.

In the weight events, Johanna Hocketstaller won the shot put with Kristine Leonard winning the discus, Sarah Nutsch the hammer and Ellen Rouse the javelin. Leonard also was second in the shot and hammer, and Kyle Rothwell won the men's hammer.
