AZUSA, Calif - The University of Idaho track and field team concluded its three-day stretch of competitions Saturday at the Mt.Sac Relays.

“I was very pleased with our team’s performance over the weekend,” Idaho Director of track and field/cross country Wayne Phipps said.

Senior Alycia Butterworth finished second in the 3k steeplechase open elite section with a time of 10:14.26. Her time ranks fourth in the NCAA west region and 11th in the NCAA so far this season. Her time also moves her into second-best all-time at Idaho. Senior Holly Stanton Browning crossed the finish line in seventh in the 3k steeplechase open-A section with a career-best time of 10:35.24, while junior Ben Ayesu-Attah finished 10th overall in the 400m open with a time of 47.26

Friday night at the Bryan Clay Invitational, sophomore Jerrica Hauck placed sixth in the pole vault, with a mark of 12-2.75 (3.73m) and freshman Faith Eruwa placed seventh in the triple jump with a wind-aided leap of 38-10.25 (11.84m). In the shot put, freshman Adara Winder placed second with a heave of 44-11.75 (13.71m), followed closely by freshman Ana Pardo in third with a mark of 44-1.5 (13.45m).

For the men, sophomore Nathan Stark finished sixth in the 3k steeplechase with a time of 9:34.96, followed by sophomore Santos Vargas in 10th with a time of 9:40.22. Junior Emmanuel Panchol placed seventh in the high jump with a leap of 6-7.5 (2.02m), while senior Kyle Rothwell finished 10th in the discus throw with a mark of 147-9.

The Vandals are back in action next Saturday a short drive away at the Cougar Invitational hosted by Washington State University.
