Vandals Set for West Prelims

MOSCOW—11 members of the University of Idaho men’s and women’s track and field team are off to Fayetteville, Ark., this week to compete in the first leg of the2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships. The Vandals will take part in the West Preliminaries over the span of May 29-31.

This week the top 48 individual qualifiers and top 24 relay teams from the West Region will all compete to make the top 12 in regional competition to qualify for the final 24 that will continue on to the 2014 NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.

Tayler Feinauer will be the first Vandal in action on Thursday. She and the rest of the field in the women’s javelin will kick off the field events at 10 a.m. PT. Matt Sullivan will join the men pole vaulters in their first jumps 11 a.m. PT. Idaho’s shot putters will also be in action on Thursday. Andrey Levkiv will compete first with the men at 12 p.m. PT, while Ana Pardo will throw with the women at 3:30 p.m. PT.

Ben Ayesu-Attah will be the only Vandal on the track on Thursday. He will run in the 400m at 5:20 p.m. PT.
